At the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) at the QAZAQSTAN pavilion, a panel session on “Participation of Kazakhstan in the fulfillment of international methane obligations: practical measures to reduce emissions in the oil and gas sector” was held. The organizer of an important event at COP 29 within the framework of the country's methane commitments made at COP 28 panel discussion was the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Preparation of the panel session and promotional materials for the Day of Energy Transition and Clean Energy at the Kazakhstan pavilion was carried out by ECO-Astana NR LLP as a member of the Association of Legal Entities “Union of Verifiers of the Republic of Kazakhstan ‘ETS KZ VERIFIERS’.
Organization of the panel session
In preparation for the panel session, ECO-Astana NR LLP carried out extensive work, including:
✔ Development of the concept and program of the session, which was agreed with the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the RK, information for presentation of the session speakers.
✔·Creation of scenario and moderation of speakers' presentations, which ensured a structured and logical course of the discussion.
✔ Preparation of presentation and visual materials, such as a video “Methane emissions reduction is a key challenge of our time!” and QR codes with the access to information materials.

All this work was accomplished in a short period of time due to well-coordinated teamwork and professionalism of specialists of ECO-Astana NR LLP.
During the session, representatives of government, business and international organizations discussed the implementation of OGMP 2.0 standards, the use of innovative technologies and the role of Kazakhstan in addressing global climate challenges.
The session attracted the attention of leading experts and confirmed the progressive actions of Kazakhstan in the implementation of initiatives to reduce methane emissions. Participants noted the importance of technologies such as Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) and Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) systems presented at the event.
