On July 25, 2025, a practical seminar titled “An Integrated Approach to Methane Emissions Management in the Oil and Gas Sector: From Monitoring to Effective Reduction” was held in Astana

The event was organized by Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. (KPO) with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and brought together representatives of leading oil and gas operators, industry associations, international experts, and analytical agencies. Eco-Astana NR LLP provided coordination of the organizational and technical preparation of the event, taking on the development of the concept and program, the design of information materials and the venue in a unified style, the organization of technical controls, supervision of all sessions, and the implementation of final activities.

The relevance of the seminar is directly related to Kazakhstani international climate commitments. At the 28th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28) in 2023, the country joined the Global Methane Pledge, committing to reduce methane emissions by at least 30% by 2030. The seminar became an important industry platform for sharing experiences, discussing current regulatory trends, and demonstrating national and corporate achievements in methane emissions management
